Well I don’t know where the time went, seems this year’s Springtide Festival in Uxbridge, ON, has just snuck up on us. The Fest happens Thursday June 12, Friday June 13 and June 14 2025 across a variety of venues including the main stage at Second Wedge, Brewery, Wixan’s, Corner House, 9 by Tin, and the Bridge Social. Looking over the line-up which includes Reuben and the Bullhorn Singers, Cuff the Duke, and, Status/Non-Status, plus scores more obv., there is a sense to me of rebuilding, of a back to basics, back to building blocks, with solo and duo acts dominating. Let’s focus on a rebuild one voice at a time, it creates an intimacy too, a focus, so yeah I think this Springtide will be quite the gentle affair and we could all use some gentleness in this time.

Springtide too has an advantage as it takes place in a place with a deep well of talent, and so many voices on stage will be locals, and the locals of Uxbridge are of such a level, well lets just let those voices speak for themselves.

Also part of the Fest is a special presentation by Blue Heron Books of Cancon icon Rik Emmet of Triumph who will be chatting about his new book ‘Ten Telecaster Tales’, at St. Andrew-Chalmers Church Friday June 13 at 6:30 p.m.
