It was a late nite DVP moment with Bookie on the radio and then the world for me changed with ‘Cause = Time” so nice to see the song had gravitas for a band too half way around the world, Middle Kids from Oz, and obv by this new tribute album to ‘You Forgot It In People’ dropping June 6 2025, Broken Social Scene meant something for so many more artists. For me it meant the work was to begin anew and thus that song on that drive led me here and there we are. Also watched the new doc ‘Its All Gonna Break” by Simon Cheung on the band’s early days and thats a treat. For me BSS are as seminal to rock n roll as the Clash and Nirvana. They are chaos in harmony, post-The Band, uniquely Canadian. They are not just a group, they are a federation and we have a lot to learn from them on how to navigate this new environment.
