Leif Vollebekk and Angie McMahon 'Take It To The Limit' on Eagles cover

Will McGuirk April 16, 2025

By Will McGuirk

Its yacht rock if your yacht is a big silver Blue Bird Wanderlodge, dustclouding to Las Vegas through the desert - thems the vibes of the Eagles, California in all its denim promise, broken mostly but the stuff the dreams are made of even for a young kid on a car ride with his dad grooving to a cassette tape. Thems the vibes of this nostalgic collab between moody singer/songwriter Leif Vollebekk and guest Australian artist Angie McMahon. Leif subs out the orchestra of the original for some lap steel courtesy of Cindy Cashdollar who has worked with Bob Dylan and Van Morrison, and brings it all back to the dusty denim dreams of Gram Parsons and the fulcrum that is the Joshua Tree. Vollebekk’s new album ‘Revelation’ is now available.
