Moonshine, the Montreal based collective with a global outlook, have released a mixtape featuring DJ Lag, Pierre Kwenders, UNIIQU3, Branko, Vanyfox, and Black Rave Culture. ‘SMS for Location, Vol. 6’ is a true mixtape mixing a multitude of genres and blending across those genres. The collective were nominated for the 2024 JUNO Award for Global Music Album of the Year but they are more outside of the industry than in doing it all DIY and grassroots. They also have a new film ‘Zaïre Space Program Act II’, directed by Hervé “ Coltan” Kalongo and co-directed by Nizar Saleh Mohamed, Pierre Kwenders and Felix Brochier. It’s all very cool and indicative of the future which awaits us, one without all these artificial borders and boundaries, one were identity is as fluid as water, as fluid as music. Also they have a track called ‘Slow It Down’ so thats a plus just there on its own. See we are part of the future!!
