Mariposa Folk Fest in Orillia July 5-7 2024 is the Great Dame, the grandmother of festivals in Canada, the Elder, and still setting the stage for all the others. Its a gathering and there are some Oshawa connected kats gathering and some kats from other places we know gathering and others we don’t know from places we don’t know but want to know more about gathering so we hand over this Open Mic to Mariposa and some of those I’ll be personally seeking out this year. Obv there are so many great acts playing and everyone from legacy to emerging is talented so just go and be curious, leave yourself open to random discovery.
