St. Catherines' Joe Lapinski releases power popper 'Hurt A Bird'

Will McGuirk April 14, 2025

By Will McGuirk

Some power-pop from Joe Lapinski by way of Elvis Costello and Shotgun Jimmie. Lapinski is a n indie rocker from St. Catherines and has released a new track ‘Hurt A Bird’, co-produced by Dave Clark of the Rheostatics amongst others.

“I wrote this song on a day when some so-called 'adults' were protesting against transgender and non-binary students being allowed to use their chosen pronouns and bathrooms. It made me furious—these kids already have a hard enough time navigating their identities. To have adults from their own community dehumanizing them is just cruel.” says Lapinski
